Mage
The spellcasting users of the realms. Fluent in magic and many tongues the mages prosper and thrive well in the realms. Many fear the wrath of a mage. To become one requires hard work and dedication. Mages start off weak but with time will gradually grow to be very powerful and highly respected.
Cleric
The clerics are the protectors of the church. They use their god-given spells for the benefit of their deity. They believe strongly in their god or goddess. When someone is sick or in need of medical attention the clerics will use their power to cure the victim. Clerics begin a weak life but gain in power as time progresses. They can aspire to be the High Priest of a god or goddess.
Thief
Thieves are looked upon as the scum of the realms. They steal from anyone they can. It is rumored that some thieves only steal from the rich and give back to the poor, but for the most part any thief is still scum. Some are hired out by others to assassinate rivals. The life of a thief is dark and mysterious. Some follow gods, some do not. A thief will gain in power as he improves his skills.
Barbarian
The realms have no formal “warriors”. Warriors are looked upon as brutes and hence are called barbarians. The people highly respect the barbarians for their sheer strength and prowess but look upon their intellect as slow and weak. The barbarians fear magic and will do anything to get away from it. Some barbarians have taken up a personal cause against all magic. Some have taken sides with gods or goddesses to feel safer from the magic.
Psionicist
The Psionicist are a rare class. They use the power of the mind to overcome their obstacles. They can invoke a strange kind of “mind magic” and use it in the interest of their god or goddess. It is very rare to find a psionicist who doesn’t follow a god or goddess. It is said they gain all their knowledge from the heavens. Many folk shy away from the psionicist not knowing how to feel about this strange class. They gain in power slowly.
Monk
The monks of the realms live a sheltered life. Many live in the monasteries of the north. They study the works of their gods and goddesses seeking a “higher level” of understanding. They are taught to fight with their bare hands making them a deadly opponent. They have mastered many “hand to hand” techniques and are not ones to take threats lightly. They gain in power quickly but are limited by their knowledge of combat and magic.
Ranger
The rangers are the protectors of the wild. Most rangers are elven trained making them a deadly adversary. Most rangers are peaceful of heart and worship the goodly gods and goddesses. Rangers can speak telepathically to animals and have a special bond with nature. They do not feel comfortable in cities and the folk of the cities do not know what to think of them. Rangers gain in power at a moderate rate.
